The bar-headed goose (Anser indicus) (Kannada Name:ಪಟ್ಟೆತಲೆ ಹೆಬ್ಬಾತು - Pattetale Hebbatu), is a goose that breeds in Central Asia in colonies of thousands near mountain lakes and winters in South Asia, as far south as peninsular India. It lays three to eight eggs at a time in a ground nest. It is known for the extreme altitudes it reaches when migrating across the Himalayas.

Types of Duck species found in Mysuru

Anatidae includes the ducks and most duck-like waterfowl, such as geese and swans. These birds are adapted to an aquatic existence with webbed feet, flattened bills, and feathers that are excellent at shedding water due to an oily coating. There are 20 species which is found in Karnataka and I have found 7 species in Mysuru
