The Common Kingfisher (Kannada Name - ನೀಲಿ ಮಿಂಚುಳ್ಳಿ - Neeli Minchulli) (Alcedo atthis) also known as Eurasian Kingfisher, or River Kingfisher, is a small kingfisher with seven subspecies recognized within its wide distribution across Eurasia and North Africa.

Types of Kingfishers species found in Mysuru:
Kingfishers are medium-sized birds with large heads, long pointed bills, short legs and stubby tails. There are 93 species worldwide and 13 species which occur in India and 8 in Karnataka and I have found 4 in Mysuru.
