The Nilgiri flowerpecker (Kannada Name - ಪೇಲವ ಬದನಿಕೆ - Pēlava badanike) (Dicaeum concolor) is a tiny bird in the flowerpecker family. Formerly a subspecies of what used to be termed as the plain flowerpecker although that name is now reserved for Dicaeum minullum. Like others of the group, it feeds predominantly on nectar and fruits. Wiki

The flowerpeckers are very small, stout, often brightly coloured birds, with short tails, short thick curved bills and tubular tongues. There are 44 species worldwide and 10 species which occur in India and 3 in Karnataka. I have found 2 in Mysuru.
