18. Great Egret (ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬೆಳ್ಳಕ್ಕಿ - Dodda Belakki)

Great Egret - ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬೆಳ್ಳಕ್ಕಿ
The great egret (Kannada name - ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬೆಳ್ಳಕ್ಕಿ) (Ardea alba), also known as the common egret, large egret or (in the Old World) great white heron, is a large, widely distributed egret. Distributed across most of the tropical and warmer temperate regions of the world, in southern Europe it is rather localized. Wiki

Types of Heron/Egrets species found in Mysuru:

The family Ardeidae contains the bitternsherons and egrets. Herons and egrets are medium to large wading birds with long necks and legs. Bitterns tend to be shorter necked and more wary. Members of Ardeidae fly with their necks retracted, unlike other long-necked birds such as storks, ibises and spoonbills. There are around 16 species found in Karnataka and I have found 8 in Mysuru
