The Blue-faced Malkoha (Kannada Name - ಕೈರಾತ - Keiratha) (Phaenicophaeus viridirostris) is a member of the cuckoo order of birds, the Cuculiformes, which also includes the roadrunners, the anis, and the Hoatzin.

The family Cuculidae includes
cuckoos,
roadrunners and
anis. These birds are of variable size with slender bodies, long tails and strong legs. Many are
brood parasites. There are 138 species worldwide and 21 species which occur in India and 15 species in Karnataka and I have found 6 in Mysuru.
